Learn how to edit the track of a route.
If you have an existing route — either one created by another OpenRunner community member or one you drew yourself — and you want to modify it in certain places:
Start by adding the route to the editor.

Important information before editing
The tracking mode is set to the one used when the route was created.
This affects what happens when you add, move or delete a waypoint.
Edit a Route on the Website
You can easily customize your route by adding, moving, or deleting waypoints.
Add a Waypoint
Zoom in on the map to clearly see your route.
Hover over the trace — a blue point will appear.
Click and drag the point to the desired location.
Release the click to insert the point into your route.
Move a Waypoint
Click the waypoint you want to move.
Hold down the click and drag it to the new position.
Release — the route will automatically adjust.
Delete One or More Waypoints
Delete a single point:
Click the point, then select “Delete this point.”-
Delete multiple points:
Click a point and select “Start multiple deletion” (the point turns black).
Click the last point you want to remove.
All points in between will be deleted.
Manage Waypoints
Show the list of waypoints:
Click “Waypoints” in the toolbar on the left.
Then select a point from the list to zoom in on its location.Show or hide waypoints on the map:
Check or uncheck “Show waypoints” in the side panel.
Keyboard shortcut: press W to quickly toggle waypoint visibility.
Edit a Route in the Mobile App
You can also edit and customize your route directly from your phone.
Add a Waypoint

Tap your route — a window will appear with two options:
Add to the end of the route: sets a new endpoint at that location.
Insert on the route: adds an intermediate point to adjust the path locally.
After inserting, press and hold the new point to move it.
The route will adjust automatically (blue line visible on screen).You can also insert a point outside the route:
tap and hold near the trace, then select “Insert on the route.”
Move a Waypoint
Press and hold the point you want to move.
Drag it to the new location.
Release — the route will update automatically.
Delete One or More Waypoints
Single point: tap the point, then select “Delete this point.”
All points: open the “Features” (key) menu, then select “Delete all points.”
