With the OpenRunner app, plotting a route is quick and easy.
Steps to create a route
- Go to the “Routes” tab in the main menu.
- Tap “+ New route” at the bottom right.
- Select “Create” to start a blank route.
Choose the activity for automatic path tracking mode
- Hiking / Running / Trail
- Road Biking
- Gravel Biking / Bike Touring
Add your first point using the tracing tool (bottom right)
- Automatic waypoint (curved line between points, red points on the map): OpenRunner automatically calculates the route according to the selected tracking mode. Recommended for a smooth and optimized route.
- Manual waypoint (straight line between points, yellow points on the map): draws a straight line between points.
- Move the map and zoom in to precisely place your points.
Customize your route (gear icon)
- Change the color and thickness of the line.
- Estimate the duration of the route by setting a pace (min/km) or speed (km/h).
Improve readability
- Change the map background.
- Recenter on your location or search for a specific place.
- Display mountain passes.
Easily correct your route
- Delete the last point added by tapping the arrow at the bottom left.
Editing routes in the app is not yet available, but our team is working on an editor as powerful as the website’s!
