With the OpenRunner app, creating a route is simple and fast. You can draw a new route directly on the map by choosing your activity mode and display options.
Steps to create a route
Open the “Routes” tab from the main menu.
Tap “+ New route” at the bottom right of the screen.
Select “Create” to start a blank route.

Choose the activity type to activate the appropriate automatic routing mode:
Hiking
Trail / Running
Road cycling
Gravel
Cross-country MTB
Drawing your route
Add points by tapping once on the map .

Move a point with a long press, or tap it to access options:
Switch to manual point
Delete the point
Set as new starting point
You can change the routing mode at any time by tapping the icon at the bottom left of the screen.
Route tools
Tap the key icon to access the following options:
Return to start (via the shortest route adapted to your mode)
Delete last point
Delete all points
Reverse route
U-turn (return to start via the same path)
Display settings
Tap the gear icon to customize your route’s appearance and information:
Change the color and thickness of the route
Show or hide road types
Set a pace (min/km) or speed (km/h) to estimate duration
Enable the point-adding button to use the target on the map
Enable the point type switch button: auto/manual
You can also:
Change the map background and display road or mountain passes
Orient the map to the north
Search for a specific location (GPS coordinates supported)
