The OpenRunner merge tool allows you to combine several routes or GPX files into a new itinerary. This feature gives you advanced options to order, reverse and preview your routes before merging them into one.
This functionality is only available on the website, not on the mobile app.
Merge Imported GPX Tracks
Import GPX files: Upload your GPX files in a single operation in OpenRunner.
Launch the merge tool:
Once the routes are imported, a window opens with a “Merge” option.
The merge tool appears with:
A list of imported tracks (left side).
A preview map (right side), showing the routes and merge options.
Customise the merge:
Reorder routes: Drag and drop the three-bar handle next to each route to rearrange their order.
Reverse routes: Click the reverse icon next to the route name to change its direction. (If the end of one route does not match the start of the next, straight connecting lines will appear.)
Finalise the merge:
Once organised, click the red “Merge” button.
Your new combined route is created and saved in your routes list.
Merge Existing Routes in the Route Editor
Add routes in the editor: Create or add at least two routes you wish to merge.
Launch the merge:
In the editor, click the “+” next to the top-left tabs, then select “Merge”.
The merge tool opens with your list of routes (left) and the preview map (right).
Reorder and reverse:
Reorder: Drag the three-bar handle to move routes up or down.
Reverse: Click the reverse icon to invert a route direction. (If end and start points don’t align, straight lines will connect them.)
Preview the result on the map.
Validate the merge:
Click “Merge” when ready. Your new route is created and can be saved.
