The multi-route display is a feature that allows you to view, compare, and modify multiple routes at the same time. Here’s how to add routes to the route planner and make the most of this feature.
This feature is available only on the website and not on the mobile app.
From the route search
- Go to the route search page on the website.
- The results list displays all the public routes shared on OpenRunner based on your search criteria.
- Find the route you want to modify or compare.
- Click on the route, either on the thumbnail on the left or directly on the track on the map.
- Click on the "Copy" icon (two overlapping squares). Hovering over the icon will display the text "Add a copy to the route planner".
- The route will be added to the route planner, and a notification will inform you of the number of routes present in the planner.
- If you just want to save the route for later, add it to a list.
From your routes list
- Go to your routes list by clicking on “My Routes” at the top right.
- In table view, click on the three dots at the end of the row.
- In thumbnail view, click on the three dots at the bottom right of each thumbnail.
- Select “Add to route planner”.
- The selected routes will appear in the planner, accessible by clicking on the “Route Planner” tab.
From the route page of a route you own
- Click on the red "Edit in route planner" button.
- You will be automatically redirected to the planner.
From the route page of a route you don’t own
- Click on the three vertically aligned dots.
- The route will be added to the planner, and a notification will inform you of the number of routes present in the planner.
Note: You can navigate between pages while keeping your current work. Add routes to the planner from the search or your routes list, then switch to the planner to compare or modify them. You can always return to the list or search to add more routes.
Managing modifications
- Routes you own: Routes you add and modify in the planner are directly editable. Changes will be applied to the original version of the route.
- Routes you don’t own: A copy of the original route will be added to the planner. The changes made will be saved as a new route in your list.
Free version limits and EXPLORER advantages
- With the free version of OpenRunner, you can display up to 3 routes simultaneously in the planner.
- With the EXPLORER subscription, there is no limit to the number of routes you can display simultaneously.
