Embed a Collection on your website

Embedding an OpenRunner Collection allows you to display multiple routes on your website within a single embed. It is particularly useful for grouping the routes of an event, destination, club or themed selection.

This feature is available exclusively with PRO and PRO Destinations subscriptions.

Before you start

To embed a Collection on your website:

• you must have a PRO or PRO Destinations subscription;
• the Collection must be public;
• only public routes within the Collection will be visible in the embed.

If your Collection contains private routes, they will not be displayed on your website.

Embed a Collection on your website

1. Open the Collection you want to embed.
2. Click “Share”.
3. Select “Embed the Collection on a website”.
4. Copy the provided embed code.
5. Paste this code into the appropriate area of your website.

The public routes in your Collection will then be displayed directly on your website within a single embed.

Edit a Collection that is already embedded

Once your Collection has been embedded on your website, you do not need to generate a new code every time you make a change.

Changes made in OpenRunner are automatically reflected on your website. You can therefore add or remove routes while keeping the same embed code.

This is particularly useful for regularly updating an event’s routes, refreshing a destination’s selection or keeping a club’s upcoming outings up to date.

When should you embed a Collection?

Embedding a Collection is recommended when you want to display multiple routes on the same page without adding several individual embeds.

You can use it to display:

• the different routes or formats of a sporting event;
• the swimming, cycling and running courses of a triathlon;
• routes and outings offered by a club or association;
• a selection of hiking, cycling, gravel or trail routes for a destination;
• several routes grouped around the same activity or theme.

Should you embed a Collection or a single route?

The two options are designed for different needs.

If you want to group multiple routes together, use a Collection embed. Visitors can then find several routes within the same area of your website.

If you want to highlight one specific route, a single-route embed offers more display options, including the map with its elevation profile. It also allows visitors to explore the route in 3D with Flyover, helping them better understand the route and its elevation.
